For Expert Contributors
She Owns Success (SOS) is a curated editorial platform featuring thoughtful voices across inner growth, leadership, identity, healing, and conscious success.
Our content is designed to feel considered, grounded, human, and non-promotional or formulaic.
We publish pieces that offer depth, clarity, and considered perspective, invite reflection, expand awareness, and express lived experience and expertise with integrity.
These guidelines help maintain the editorial quality and tone of the platform while allowing contributors to write in their own voice.
Our Editorial Approach
SOS content sits at the intersection of expert insight and lived experience.
We value writing that:
- Is reflective
- Is informed by depth of practice or personal experience
- Offers perspective
- Provides in-depth expert insight
- Trusts the reader’s intelligence
Articles should feel thoughtful, composed, and intentional, while still sounding like you.
Tone & Voice
We welcome a range of voices, but all SOS content should be:
- Conversational yet intelligent
- Calm, grounded, and emotionally aware
- Confident without being declarative or absolute
- Personal where it adds meaning, without becoming purely diaristic
First-person writing is welcome when it adds meaning or context.
The goal is to provide education and insight through expertise, experience, and storytelling.
Use of Personal Stories
Personal stories are welcome where they add depth, clarity, and meaning to the insight being shared.
On She Owns Success, storytelling is used to illustrate perspective, deepen understanding, and help the reader connect more clearly with the topic; not for self-expression alone.
Stories should:
- support a clear insight, shift, or takeaway
- help the reader see themselves or their situation more clearly
- remain relevant to the core message of the article
We do not publish content that reads as personal journaling or is centered solely on the author’s experience without broader relevance.
What We Publish
We accept original, unpublished pieces that support career growth and development, business, and personal growth, and align with one or more of SOS’s core pathways below:
- Identity & Reinvention
- Emotional Healing & Nervous System
- Purpose & Conscious Success
- Leadership & Inner Power
- Spiritual Intelligence & Intuition
- Communication & Authentic Expression
Strong submissions often include:
- Reflections drawn from lived experience
- Nuanced perspectives shaped by practice
- Thoughtful commentary on inner work, leadership, conscious success, or transformation
- Insights that feel timeless rather than trend-led
- Clear guidance or education grounded in deep expertise and reflective insight
Pieces may be experiential, informative, or perspective-based, but should always offer substance rather than surface-level advice.
Expertise & Perspective
All articles should be grounded in your area of expertise, professional experience, or depth of practice.
We welcome a range of perspectives, particularly where disciplines overlap. However, the angle and insight of the piece should clearly reflect why you are positioned to speak on the topic.
This may come through:
- Your professional background or field of work
- Your direct experience supporting others in this area
- A depth of practice and a developed perspective within the subject
Where personal experience is referenced, it should be used to support a broader insight, not presented as standalone authority.
Articles should feel informed, considered, and rooted in real understanding — not general commentary or surface-level opinion.
What We Don’t Publish
To protect editorial quality and reader trust, we do not accept:
- Heavily sales-driven or purely promotional content
- Calls to action for products, services, programs, or mailing lists when not naturally placed within editorial and supporting it.
- Content written primarily for SEO
- Trend commentary without depth or context
- Articles that do not align with any of the core pillars or any of our categories
Length & Structure
- Recommended length: 800–1,500 words
- Longer pieces are welcome if the content warrants it
- Shorter pieces should still feel substantial, valuable, and complete
Structure should support readability:
- Clear paragraphs
- Subheadings were helpful
- No dense blocks of text
We will handle final formatting and layout.
Use of Links & References
We apply professional editorial review to all submissions.
- External links should be relevant and contextual, not excessive.
- Links may reference:
- Reputable publications
- Research or studies
- Books, concepts, or thought leaders relevant to the topic
- Links should support the content, not distract from it
We do not include:
- affiliate links
- promotional links to personal offers
- links used solely for SEO purposes
If referencing your own work, it should be minimal and purely contextual.
Links we deem unsuitable or unnecessary may be removed.
Medical & Evidence-Based Claims
Where articles reference physiological, psychological, or health-related effects, claims should be appropriately supported or clearly framed.
If making specific or clinical claims (for example, relating to hormones, the nervous system, mental health, or physical health outcomes), contributors should include a reputable supporting source, such as a research study, clinical publication, or recognized expert reference.
Where this is not provided, the SOS editorial team may:
- soften or reframe the language to reflect experience rather than clinical certainty
- or insert an appropriate reference where needed
Contributors with relevant professional training or qualifications may write more directly within their area of expertise. However, all content should still reflect a considered and responsible use of language.
Images
SOS provides editorial images for all published articles to ensure visual consistency across the platform.
If you wish to include your own images, these may be used within the body of the article where relevant.
Contributor-supplied images must be:
- high resolution
- suitable for editorial use
- free from promotional text or overlays
Final image selection and placement remain at the discretion of the SOS editorial team.
Editing & Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by the SOS editorial team.
As part of this process, we may make light structural, tonal, or formatting refinements to ensure clarity, flow, and consistency across the platform.
This editorial process is designed to present your work in its strongest, most cohesive form while maintaining your voice and perspective.
Final publishing decisions, including editorial direction and timing, rest with the SOS editorial team.
Editorial Alignment
All submissions must align with the tone, standards, and focus of the platform.
While we value a range of perspectives and voices, we reserve the right not to publish content that does not align with our editorial direction.
